In F1 Lenovo’s laptops, netbooks, desktop and servers provide Vodafone McLaren Mercedes with mission-critical computing solutions, both at the race track and back at the McLaren Technology Centre in Woking in the UK. They can be used for anything from the design of the car, through the starting of the engine in the pitlane to the analysis of thousands of points of telemetry data after the race, and provide a highly visible showcase for Lenovo’s breadth of capability, its high-performance hardware, exceptional engineering and reliability, as well as its continual quest for innovation.
ExxonMobil
ExxonMobil is the world’s largest publicly traded international oil and gas company, with roots extending back 125 years to the US Standard Oil Company of John D Rockefeller. It now operates across the globe, pioneering and leading the way in the exploration, production, manufacture and transportation of crude oil, natural gas and petroleum products.
Mobil 1 is the world’s first fully synthetic motor oil, first introduced to the consumer market in 1973. By working with teams in the technically demanding world of motorsport – particularly supplying fuels and Mobil 1 lubricants, and working with the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes team in F1 – ExxonMobil has used motorsport as a high-performance test bed to improve its consumer products, taking what it has learned in the extremes of motorsport to consumers, through better protection, reduced friction and improved fuel economy.
Projection Design
projectiondesign is an award-winning Norwegian company that designs, manufactures and markets a range of high performance projectors for use in high resolution scientific visualization, visual training and simulation, medical imaging, broadcast, post production, public media and entertainment environments.
The large format visuals in front of the PureTech Racing simulators, help create the exciting, competitive and immersive experience and these projected images are produced by the world's most innovative, bright and accurate projectors from projectiondesign.
Carlin
Carlin Motorsport was founded in 1996 to operate a pit-stop challenge around Europe for the Williams F1 team. In 1999, the team entered its first full season of racing with Narain Karthikeyan in British F3. The team went on to win six races that season, signalling the potential that would make Carlin the most successful team in British F3 history. One of the most successful single seater teams outside F1, Carlin has won 169 races in its 10 year racing history and claimed five British F3 championships. Over 150 drivers have passed through the doors of the team, many on their way to the highest echelons of the sport, including F1 drivers Kimi Raikkonen, Jenson Button, Nico Rosberg, Robert Kubica, Sebastian Vettel and Jaime Alguersuari.
In November 2009 the team entered a new era, with the purchase of Carlin Motorsport by Capsicum Motorsport Ltd, a company set up by motorsport enthusiast Grahame Chilton. Now trading under the name of Carlin, the team look towards a successful future and is currently competing in the Renault World Series, British F3 and GP3.
DAMS
DAMS was founded in 1988 and spent its first eight years competing in the F3000 championship, the last step before F1. From 1997 onwards, the team has entered other categories and has since raced in the 24 hours of Le Mans, FIA GT, Le Mans Series, Sports Racing World Cup, Formula Renault V6, World Series by Renault, GP2 Series, A1GP, Formula BMW Europe and Formula Le Mans.
After 20 years of activity in single seater championships and endurance racing, DAMS now enjoys a solid experience. The team has won three international F3000 championships, one Formula Renault V6 championship and two World Cups out of four A1GP seasons. Recently, DAMS won the GP2 Asia Series championship. Up to today, DAMS has scored 327 titles, podiums, pole positions and fastest laps in 959 race starts in the last 20 years. Twenty DAMS drivers have raced in F1, four in DTM, 14 in American Le Mans Series, 16 in FIA GT and 13 in the Indy Car, Champ Car or Indy Light.
Pro Performance
Pro Performance is a sports science consultancy based in the UK specialising in preparing elite racing drivers for competition and achieving excellence in sport.
They offer a comprehensive range of specific services including heat and altitude training, reaction training, mental skills coaching and competition support. At a race or test their role is to ensure the driver is 100% ready every time they put their helmet on. Through a combination of physical preparations, finely balanced nutrition and unique focusing techniques they can really make a difference to the drivers performance. This is the perfect complement to all the work done with the driver in the lab and the gym throughout the year.
Pro Performance’s goal is to develop long-term working relationships with dedicated, hard-working drivers who want to achieve their very best and through ongoing sports science research and involvement in motorsport make Pro Performance the gold standard human performance company in motorsport.
