Great simulation requires the tightest coordination of many critical but distinct elements delivered as realistically as possible to the brain. The more information we feed it in the right way, the more it works with us to increase immersion. Get an element wrong or out of sync and the brain won’t play the game.
So we decided to rid ourselves of the bezels, one, or in this case, three less things to stop your brain believing what it is seeing.
Getting the visuals right is a huge part of the simulation experience and removing individual monitor panels in favour of a seamless triple projector system seemed the natural evolution. The result is a system of 3 overlapping LED projectors rated to run almost 5 years at 12 hours a day, 365 days per year, that create a single seamless curved image that draws the driver in. It is simply more realistic and builds the overall synergy of the experience. Less critically, but a marginal gain nonetheless is the reduction in weight on the platform. The ultra thin screen and projectors weigh a fraction of the monitors and support structure that would have been required. It means even faster motion response requiring less power.
