PTR5 is a slicks and wings car designed for rookie racers. It has all the technology of larger formulae but in a package that is good fun and yet manageable to drive. The car allows fast and close racing, and is the ideal platform for aspiring drivers looking to move up the racing ladder. The vehicle would be the equivalent of a Formula BMW and highlights include a 140 bhp engine, with a high downforce package, 6 speed manual gear shift and is damage enabled.

PTR4 is more powerful than its smaller sister and has a bigger aero package and is for more experienced racers. Although more demanding to drive, the car potential is far greater than that of its predecessor and is a great feeder to the PTR3 vehicle. The vehicle would be the equivalent of a Formula Renault 2000 and highlights include 192 bhp engine, with a high downforce package, 6 speed manual gear shift and is damage enabled.

PTR3 is the top level 'club' racing car and is the obvious choice for our championship racing. It is a sophisticated vehicle with super high levels of downforce making corner entry speeds very daunting indeed. The vehicle would be the equivalent of a Formula 3 and highlights include 210 bhp engine, with a extreme high downforce package, 6 speed manual gear shift and is damage enabled. Every session driven by the members of the PTR team is run on this car!!!

PureTech Racing Championship 2012

The Championship structure has had a bit of a re-vamp for 2012 that will lead to some spectacular racing!! To enable drivers to race against others that will offer suitable challenges, PTR is introducing a promotion/relegation league style format. This will see the top three drivers of each league being promoted to the next league with the bottom three being relegated. This leaves the middle order in place to push for promotion in the next phase. Each phase of the series will see each driver taking part in six races over three events with each event being run on a Sunday afternoon with the "PTR ALL STARS" racing on the last Sunday of the month, league 1 racing on the third Sunday and so on for all the four leagues. The race event schedule is as follows:

  1. 15:00 A 10 minute qualifying session with damage off.
  2. 15:10 Race One set as a 15 minute sprint with the number of laps to be decided by the pole sitter’s fastest lap. Example; 15 minutes equalling 900 seconds divided by a 1.02 minute lap (62 seconds) equals 14 laps. The number of laps being rounded down to ensure the chance of racing to the chequered flag!! Points will be awarded for this race and the finishing positions will make up the grid order for race Two. This session will be run with damage on.
  3. 15:25 A 10 minute rest break.
  4. 15:35 A 25 minute feature race again with the number of laps decided on the fastest lap time from the qualifying session. Points will also be awarded for the finishing positions. This race will also be run with damage on.

By following this format each racing member will get exactly what they have been asking for. That being the maximum amount of time in car in as short a time period as possible!! It will also encourage the best possible racing from every single driver as every single point will count!!!

After the three rounds have taken place we will then promote/demote the relevant drivers to their respective leagues. By running this format a new driver to the championship format can enter as a rookie but still end up winning the championship!! The overall winner of the PTR 2012 Championship will be the driver at the top of the PTR ALL STARS League at the end of the year.
